Chilli Chicken Recipe

 


Chilli chicken is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that is made with chicken, vegetables, and a spicy sauce. Here's a recipe for chilli chicken:

Ingredients:


500g boneless chicken, cut into small pieces

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/4 teaspoon cumin powder

1/4 teaspoon coriander powder

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 onion, chopped

1 green bell pepper, chopped

2-3 green chillies, chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

1/4 cup tomato ketchup

2 tablespoons chilli sauce

1 tablespoon vinegar

1 tablespoon sugar

Salt to taste

Spring onions, chopped for garnishing

Instructions:


Marinate the chicken with salt, black pepper, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and set aside for 30 minutes.


Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok or a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the wok and set aside.


In the same wok, add another tablespoon of oil and stir-fry the onion, green bell pepper, green chillies, garlic, and ginger for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are softened.


Add the tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, vinegar, sugar, and salt to the wok. Stir to combine.


Add the cooked chicken back to the wok and stir to coat the chicken with the sauce.


Serve hot, garnished with chopped spring onions.
