Aloo Paratha Recipe

Aloo Paratha is a popular Indian flatbread made with a spicy potato stuffing and cooked on a tawa (griddle) or tandoor. Here's a recipe for making Aloo Paratha:

Ingredients for the dough:

2 cups wheat flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp oil

Water as needed

Ingredients for the stuffing:

4 medium-sized boiled potatoes

1 green chili, finely chopped

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 tsp red chili powder

1/2 tsp coriander powder

Salt as per taste

Chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

In a mixing basin, combine the wheat flour, salt, oil, and just enough water to produce a smooth dough. Let the dough to rest for 20 minutes, covered with a moist cloth.

Mash the boiling potatoes with the chopped green chilli, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, and chopped coriander leaves in a separate bowl. To create the stuffing, thoroughly combine all of the ingredients.

Roll the dough into little discs after dividing it into equal-sized balls.

Place some stuffing in the centre of one disc and draw the edges together to seal the stuffing within.

Roll the stuffed dough ball into a circular disc about 6-7 inches in diameter, dusted with flour.

Place the rolled paratha on a tawa or griddle over medium heat.

Sauté until the bottom side is golden brown, then flip it over and repeat.

Cook the paratha in oil or ghee until both sides are crispy and golden brown.

Take the paratha from the tawa and continue with the remaining dough balls.

Serve hot with butter, curd, or pickle and enjoy the delicious Aloo Paratha!

Note: You can also add other spices and ingredients like ginger, garlic, onion, or peas to the stuffing for more flavor.
