Schezwan Chicken

Schezwan chicken is a popular Chinese dish that is spicy and flavorful. Here is a simple recipe to make Schezwan chicken:


Ingredients:


1 lb boneless chicken, cut into small size piece

2 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp soy sauce

1 tsp rice vinegar

1 tsp chili powder

Salt to taste

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/4 cup chopped garlic

1/4 cup chopped ginger

2-3 dried red chilies, broken into pieces

1/4 cup Schezwan sauce (readily available in stores)

1/4 cup chopped green onions

1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Instructions:


In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken, cornstarch, soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili powder, and salt.Salt, garam masala, cumin, coriander, and turmeric powder should be added. Mix well.

Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or frying pan over high heat. Once hot, add the garlic, ginger, and dried red chilies. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add the marinated chicken to the wok and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until cooked through and lightly browned.

Add the Schezwan sauce to the wok and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the chicken is well coated with the sauce.

Finally, add the chopped green onions and cilantro to the wok and stir-fry for another minute.

Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy!
