Dal Vada recipe

Dal vada, also known as lentil fritters, is a popular Indian snack made with ground lentils and spices. Here's a recipe for making dal vada at home:

Ingredients:

1 cup chana dal (split Bengal gram)

1-4 cup moong dal (split yellow gram)

1 onion, finely chopped

2-3 green chilies, finely chopped

1/4 cup coriander leaves, finely chopped

1 teaspoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

Salt to taste

Oil for deep frying

Instructions:

Rinse and soak the chana dal and moong dal together in enough water for 4-5 hours. Drain the water and transfer the dal to a blender.

Add ginger paste, cumin seeds, and salt to the blender and grind it into a coarse paste without adding any water.

Transfer the dal mixture to a mixing bowl and add chopped onion, green chilies, and coriander leaves. Mix well to combine.

In a deep frying pan over medium heat, heat the oil.

Take a small portion of the dal mixture and shape it into a ball, then flatten it slightly to make a vada.

Carefully drop the vada into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.

Remove the vada from the oil and place it on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

Serve the dal vada hot with chutney or ketchup.

Enjoy your crispy and delicious dal vada!
